M1 Sporttechnik SPITZING Pedelec
Description:
The Pedelec is a new, perfectly conceived technological gem, delivered this year by the German designers at M1-Sporttechnik. It combines a sober and beautiful elegance, (in contrast to the sometimes explicitly aggressive look of other mountain bikes), with a performance capable of providing comfort and safety on nature trails. It is the lowest in power within the group of high-end models called "Das Spitzing", so it is made for those who don't want to cheat themselves and get more exercise pedaling off-road, with the guarantee of justly needed assistance when the going gets a bit tough or the gradient steep.
The carbon frame with its slim tubing provides more than just good looks. It gives the bike full suspension with shock and fork suspension, both from the renowned American manufacturer FOX Racing Shox. It has industrial bearings at the pivot points, which distributes the severely variable loads to which the frame nodes are subjected. The resin frame and the relatively light design of the other usually heavier components such as the battery and motor make this electric bike with its 24 kg, what in boxing would be called a real and well prepared "lightweight", qualifying among the lightest on the market today in the group of high-powered electric bikes.
The heart of the pedal-assistance is the 48 Volt nominal voltage system formed by the powerful CLEANMOBILE PIN120 motor, (designed by the experienced German industrial group TQ, in this model limited to 250 Watts), and the battery capable of supplying 880 Watts per hour. On the one hand, the incredible torque of 120 Newton meters provided by the motor ensures that the rider gets through any setback, while the power of the battery gives the bike a fabulous range of around 130 km on flat terrain.
The rest of the mechanisms of this gem are also of high quality, produced by market leaders in their respective areas. The brakes and derailleur system are made by Shimano and Magura respectively. The Pedelec's twenty speeds ensure a stable pace on difficult mountain trails and guarantee efficient use of pedal-assistance, extending the already considerable range offered by the battery. The hydraulic brakes, while being among the lightest on the market in their range, provide powerful braking power with their 203 and 180 mm diameter discs on the front and rear wheels, proven in the most aggressive enduro conditions.
The "shoes" to "fit" this bike have also been ordered from a leading firm in the tire market: Germany's Schwalbe. The type selected, the 27.5-inch Nobbi Nic, has a strong sidewall, which makes it immune to cuts and blowouts, while conversion to tubeless is easier and safer than ever. Its 2.35-inch width allows for low rolling resistance and excellent grip on a wide range of surfaces.
The all-important rims and hubs to "fit" these tires were also ordered from another well-known brand: the Swiss DT Swiss. The M 1900 SPLINE rim model is made of aluminum, is relatively lightweight, allows the use of tubeless tires and ensures the necessary strength to withstand the irregular mountain routes.
As with almost the entire collection of high-end electric mountain bikes, a digital co-pilot will also make the ride more enjoyable, providing the most important information about the bike and assisting the rider in maneuvers that require greater riding skill, such as changing gear or braking. This time, however, the M1-Sporttechnik team has taken the possibilities of electronics to a new level. In addition to the usual information provided by these devices such as distance traveled, speed, battery status, etc., the Pedelec's LCD display, located in the center of the handlebars, shows the average speed, the maximum speed reached and calculates the remaining range in kilometers, according to the residual charge level in the battery and a calculated average of the use the rider has made of the pedal assistance up to that moment. To top it off, it offers Bluetooth 4.0, a data transmitter to smartphones, on-screen display of incoming calls and texts, remote control using a mini joystick plug and a charging port for smartphones.
The system uses several high-quality sensors for its work. One of the measures the force applied when pedaling and calculates the required assistance accordingly. Another accurately checks the speed at which the bike is moving. Several of them monitor gear shifting and braking actions, instantly disengaging the motor during either process. All of them ensure you a more comfortable ride with fewer worries, thus offering you more possibilities to enjoy nature.
This bike is designed to give a pleasantly light feel and provide plenty of fun, all with the guarantee of a safe ride on mountain trails.
Model available with a 500 Watt central motor under the name S Pedelec, and with a 920 Watt central motor under the name R Pedelec.
